An exciting mix of local and international talent is set to tee off at the 2025 Zimbabwe Amateur Golf Championship, which will be staged at the prestigious Chapman Golf Club in Harare from 18 to 20 July.

A total of 48 players are expected to compete in this year’s edition of the championship, including 11 foreign entrants, underlining the growing regional interest in one of southern Africa’s premier amateur golf events.

Namibia leads the foreign charge with five players, while Malawi contributes three, and South Africa, Botswana and China are each represented by one golfer.

Zimbabwe’s top-ranked amateur, Keegan Shutt, will headline the local field, which also features rising stars Michael Wallace and Kelvin Muchenje among the boys.

In the girls’ division, all eyes will be on the quartet of Mikayla Nyazika, Melissa Muganda, Danielle Bekker, and Emilia Chabanguza, who are expected to be strong contenders for the title.

The Zimbabwe Amateur Championship has grown in stature over the years and continues to serve as a key stepping stone for young golfers aspiring to turn professional.

With regional pride and individual glory at stake, this year’s tournament promises intense competition and a showcase of the future stars of African golf.
